Matching Material Handling
Skid steers, track loaders, and telehandlers are a machine plus an attachment ecosystem, and the sale lives or dies on matching the hydraulic flow to the tools — get that wrong and the customer can’t run what they bought the machine for.
Flow is the trap
Many powered attachments — mulchers, planers, snow blowers, augers under load — need high-flow hydraulics, and a standard-flow machine can’t run them right or at all. Find out the attachments first, then match flow to the most demanding one. This is the material-handling version of getting the remotes wrong on a tractor.

Match the machine to the work
Rated operating capacity to the heaviest real task; tracks vs tires to the ground (flotation on soft/muddy, nimbler and cheaper on firm); and a reach problem is a telehandler, not a bigger loader. Much of this market is non-farm — commercial, construction, municipal, landscape — buying on uptime, durability, and service response, not like a row-crop customer.
Where it goes wrong
- Selling the machine without matching flow to the attachments.
- Offering a loader when the job is really a reach problem for a telehandler.
- Mismatching tracks and tires to the ground.
- Treating commercial and municipal buyers like farm customers.
